I’ve shot at most of Chicago’s best wedding venues, but every once in a while I get to work in a truly unique space – that’s exactly what happened with Jaclyn and Tom’s Tribune Tower Crown wedding photos. The Crown, as it’s called, is a private rooftop veranda on the 25th floor of Chicago’s Tribune Tower and a really cool ceremony venue.
My morning started with Jaclyn while she got ready with her ladies at Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile. Justin was with the guys at Jaclyn & Tom’s home in the South Loop where the guys got dressed. Can’t beat a view of the Sears tower while you’re putting on you tie!
Tom and Jaclyn met at the little spot north of the Chicago River between Trump Tower and the Wrigley building. I love this spot because of the variety of different views and backgrounds available without needing to travel very far.
It was a quick walk across Michigan Ave. to Tribune Tower for the ceremony in the Crown. The rain had been threatening all day, and about half way through the ceremony the skies opened up. The event staff got everyone inside the lounge space to finish the nuptials. Jaclyn and Tom just smiled and rolled with it.
After the ceremony, everyone headed downstairs to Howells and Hood for dinner and dancing. The reception opened with toasts by Jaclyn’s father, the best man and Jaclyn’s sister. We even managed to sneak away during dinner course to make a few nice night portraits of the city skyline view down Michigan Ave. Jaclyn and Tom shared a dance, as did Jaclyn and her dad before the dance floor opened for all.
Jaclyn and Tom, thank you for letting us document your day and for smiling through it all. Justin and I had a great time working with you and your families!
